Submit the CSR

  1. login to the DigiCert's portal;
  2. Select Orders -> Request a Certificate from the left menu;
  3. Choose a certificate's type from the SSL's Certificate tab;
    • EV Multi-domain
      Domains ownership are highly checked; a green bar will appears in the web browser of the clients visiting the website.
      It is used to protect highly visible or visited websites, assuring a high confidence in the site. This type is used for sites having multiple subject alternative names.
    • EV SSL Plus
      Domain ownership is highly checked; a green bar will appears in the web browser of the clients visiting the website.
      It is used to protect highly visible or visited websites, assuring a high confidence in the site. This type is used for sites having a single name.
    • Unified Communication
      Used for certificates having multiple domain names in various subject alternative names.
    • SSL Plus
      Used for single domain name's certificates.
    • Wildcard Plus
      Used to as a single domain name in the format *.subdomain.domain.tld. Only one single wildcard name is allowed and no other subject alternative names.
  4. click on the blue button "Order Now"
  5. upload your CSR file either by doing a copy paste in the big text field or via the "Click to upload CSR" link
  6. most of the fields get filled in automatically after the decoding of the supplied CSR
  7. Choose the signature algorithm from the dropdown box (SHA-256 is currenlyt enough for most of you, choose higher if required)
  8. Choose the platform's type where to install the certificate onto
  9. Click on the blue button "Submit Certificate request"

Your CSR now needs to be validated by someone from your local RA team (see next section).
